This paper delves into the application of sustainable design within rural revitalization strategies from the perspective of ecological aesthetics, underscoring the importance of integrating ecological aesthetics with sustainable design principles. Within the context of global sustainable development, ecological aesthetics, as a design philosophy emphasizing the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature, provides a new perspective on the interaction between rural aesthetics and environmental ecology. Firstly, this study combines literature review and case study methods to outline the theoretical foundations of ecological aesthetics and sustainable design, analyzing the application value of ecological aesthetics within rural sustainable design. Additionally, it explores the relationship and fundamental principles between ecological aesthetics and sustainable design. And then, through the analysis of case studies on the application of ecological aesthetics within sustainable design for rural revitalization, specific design strategies and implementation pathways are proposed. Finally, in alignment with China's rural revitalization strategy, this study identifies the challenges, issues, and future developmental needs that rural revitalization faces in China. It calls upon the government to support the implementation of sustainable design projects, emphasizing the importance of preserving the unique natural ecology and cultural characteristics of rural areas while monitoring their comprehensive impact on economic, social, cultural, and ecological development to achieve a modernized rural landscape.
