Publication Ethics and Malpractice

The journal stipulates that approval from the Institutional Review Board (IRB) or a similar governing body is necessary for all studies involving human subjects. Consequently, all papers that include research on humans should expressly state whether they have received IRB approval or exemption, along with disclosing the gender and age of the subjects. If applicable, this information should also be provided as supplementary materials. Please note that the editors may request the aforementioned documentation at their discretion.

Similarly, authors must acknowledge that informed consent has been obtained for studies involving humans after explaining the nature and potential consequences of the studies. The journal requires authors to include a statement confirming that informed consent was obtained from participants in any research involving human subjects. Furthermore, authors describing studies on internet and digital tools and technologies must also confirm their compliance with informed consent guidelines, where applicable.

Peer-review process

When we receive a manuscript, we will assess the manuscript to ensure that it meets the formal criteria specified in the Instructions for Authors and that aligns within the scope of the journal. In case of any uncertainty, the editor will consult with other members of the Editorial Board. Subsequently, manuscripts are assigned to a Section Editor, who will then send them to 2-4 external experts for peer review.

The journal follows a double-blind model during the review process, whereby reviewers and authors' names remain anonymous. The journal aims to facilitate a rapid, thorough, and rigorous peer-review process.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism involves the act of using someone else's work and attempting to pass it off as one's own original work. It can occur both intentionally and unintentionally. Authors should be aware of how to properly document their sources, which involves including citations in their work. The International Journal of Contemporary Humanities has a very strict policy regarding plagiarism. Any article submissions that plagiarize another author's work will be rejected, and the author may be banned from submitting articles to the journal for a period of up to five years.
